Clinics for The Homeless

This summer we innaugurated a series of clinics for pets of the homeless who camp along the American River.
We served more than 50 dogs at our first clinic, with food, leashes, collars, shots, flea and tick prevention, and medical care. We have had half a dozen spayed, and took in one underage puppy who was not thriving in the environment.
Our next clinic will be Tuesday, July 25, from 2-5 pm.

It was a great, hard, and rewarding day.
The water bottles, and icy water we were able to provide for beasts and humans alike were terrificially appreciated, as were the pet supplies and snacks.
Special thanks to volunteer Tanya for making 50 brown bag lunches to give out.
